Community Developed Through Service

I love this picture of community. It is of the two 2020 Living Water (www.water.cc) teams that gathered by Zoom recently. These teams served in the city of Ouanaminthe, just on the border of Haiti and the D.R. Alongside the LWI staff, they drilled clean water wells at two schools. They taught hygiene & sanitation lessons and shared the Gospel through Bible stories. A beautiful part of this work is that it is done with a League of Pastors. These pastors, from several different churches in their city, humbly minister together. They welcomed us. They prayed for us. They taught God's Word to us both with their words and actions. Covid-19 has impacted Haiti as well. The main market in the city and 95% of the factories, the main source of employment, are closed. Haiti is seeing an increase of cases and deaths from Covid-19. LWI has a response plan in place to enhance the efforts of the League of Pastors for the most vulnerable their community. These two teams are committed to foster community and pray for our brothers and sister in Haiti. Prayer is a valuable resource and our first line of defense, not just for Ouanaminthe, but also throughout Haiti, Houston, and beyond.
