Advent Devotional

Today's Scripture:
Corinthians 1:3-9 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I thank my God always concerning you. For the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus. That in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge, even as the testimony concerning Chrit was confirmed in you. So that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Reflect: Reflect on a story in your life that pertains to this scripture.
In this scripture, Paul expressed his gratitude for God’s provision as a gift to the Corinthian church and the hope of Christ’s return. There have been times that I questioned things that happened and why, though there may be a good reason. This year we have struggled with my husband’s health, and even though doctors have the technology and knowledge to treat many illnesses, it is God who gives us comfort and understanding.

Read: What is this scripture telling you during this season?
During this Christmas season, I pray thanks to God for all the Grace and Mercy that you have given us through your son Jesus Christ. May he grant us life to give thankfulness to You and be of service to others through Christ. Amen.

Respond: How is this scripture calling you to respond?
