Confirmation at Grace - Spring 2026
Confirmation is for anyone currently in 8th grade or above! There are a total of 8 Sunday lessons from 12:15pm-2:15pm along with one Saturday retreat (2/28). The lessons happen about every other week sprinkled throughout the Spring (1/11, 1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/12). After they have completed the lessons, they will be asked if they want to be confirmed. If they do, they will read their statements of faith to session on Wednesday 4/22. If approved, they will be confirmed April 26.
Confirmation is designed for students to "confirm" their baptism since we do infant baptisms. An unbaptized student is welcome to go through the confirmation process as well, and we can talk with you about what that looks like if that's your student! The process of confirming is done by students taking dedicated time alongside a mentor to examine their own thoughts about the faith and compare that to the agreed upon Christian faith outlined in the Apostle's Creed.

Requirements:
These requirements are to help students, not to stress them out. If there are extenuating circumstances, please have them talk to us!
- 8th grade or above
- Individually meet with assigned mentor at least every other week
- Read a book of the Bible with mentor throughout the semester (not Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John)
- Participate in our Confirmation Retreat (2/28)
- Write a Statement of Faith and share it with the elders in session (4/22)
- Participate in the Confirmation Sunday Service (4/26)
- Read one of the Gospels alone (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John)
- Memorize the Apostles’ Creed and Lord’s Prayer
- Be an active participant at Grace and Student Ministries
- Come to Confirmation class
