- ALL-ADULT EQUIPPING HOUR
This August, all adults will push pause on the normal Sunday Equipping Hour to come together in Massey-Tucker Fellowship Hall from 11 a.m. to noon. The all-adult class will meet for four Sundays starting August 10 and ending on August 31. Regular Bible reading is one of the most important habits you can develop. That is why we will be launching a church-wide "A Year Through His Word" plan this September! Each week, sermons and equipping classes and groups will all be aligned to the reading plan, which will guide us through the entirety of scripture in 365 days. We will be previewing the reading plan and providing resources during this class, so you won't want to miss it! We can't wait to hear your stories of new insights and deepened faith that will surely come from time spent with God's Word.
- FOURTH & FIFTH GRADE SURVIVOR PARTY
Calling all rising fourth and fifth graders -- do you have what it takes to play Grace Survivor Night?
Join our new Children's Ministries Associate, Alyssa Minear, for a fun fourth and fifth grade event- Grace Survivor Night. On Friday, July 25, from 5-7 p.m., fourth and fifth graders will have the campus to themselves as we play Grace Survivor and get to know our new Fourth and Fifth Grade Associate -- Ms. Alyssa!
We will have Chick-Fil-A for dinner, a devo, more games than you can handle, and maybe some surprises. For more information, contact Alyssa.
There is no cost for the event, it is for rising fourth and fifth graders ONLY. Register HERE.
- SERVE DAY AT PAUL REVERE
Join us for a day of joy, fellowship, and service as we come together to support our local students and teachers! Serve Day at Paul Revere Middle School is Saturday, July 26, 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. We'll gather on campus at Paul Revere to help paint and prepare classrooms for the new school year. While HISD recently painted the hallways, Principal Wiley has asked for our help to give the classrooms a fresh start! Let's show our students they are loved by creating clean, welcoming spaces where they can thrive. Bring your favorite paintbrush and wear clothes you don't mind getting messy! No experience needed--just a willing heart and a few hours of your time. Snacks and drinks will be provided! To sign up or for more information, contact Kristy Elmore.
GOOD NEWS OF THE WEEK
We celebrate the things that we have offered to God that are bearing fruit-- We celebrate what God is doing! 31 of our middle school students (rising seventh graders through graduated eighth graders) and leaders arrived safely at Mission Waco in Waco, Texas this past Sunday. After orientation and learning the ropes for their assignments for rest of the week, the students hosted a VBS for local children--they had a blast playing and singing with the kids! Following VBS mornings, they headed to afternoon service projects around town each day. Thank you for covering them in prayer throughout the week. They return today with dirty clothes and more stories--and we will hear a few this coming Sunday in worship!
WORSHIP THIS SUNDAY
If you are out of town or unable to be here to worship in-person this week, please join us online via livestream HERE. This Sunday, we will continuing the sermon series on Zechariah, looking into Zechariah 8:1-9. There will be a Children at the Chancel time and we will hear a Story of Grace during the service. Equipping Hour classes and the summer Preacher's Class begin at 11 a.m. See you Sunday at 9:30 a.m.! __________ We often hear about “time” as one of the aspects of Generous Living. An easy way to contribute your time is to consider joining the team of ushers at Grace. This necessary service provides a rewarding opportunity to meet and greet the members of the family of Grace. Please reach out to Harold Silver (713-304-0436) or Richard Raines (281-658-8114) with questions or to express an interest in serving as an usher.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT
Hill Country Flood Response:
We continue to hold in prayer those whose lives were devastated by the recent flooding in the Texas Hill Country. Many of you have asked what we can do for those who are suffering the unimaginable losses. Our desire as Christians is to go and help or to send what we can to help alleviate suffering. Currently, we have been told that they can accept only our prayers and our donated funds at this time. There is no capacity to accept donated goods or volunteers.
Here is how we can respond right now: • Prayers – for all those who have lost loved ones, others who have been impacted by this tragedy and the first responders and others in the area searching for the missing and working to reunite families. • Donations – Local authorities have asked for funds rather than goods which allows them to purchase what is needed and to avoid the logistics of managing donated goods. If you wish to donate funds we are recommending giving to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. You may donate to them HERE. Grants from this fund will support nonprofit organizations, first responder agencies, and local governments actively involved in response, relief, and recovery efforts. • Volunteers – Local officials have stated they are not ready for volunteers. They will communicate when the area has been cleared for volunteer teams to help with clean up. If you wish to stay abreast of the latest news regarding this disaster and response, the City of Kerrville Facebook page is a good source. It can be found HERE. Another good source of information is the Kerr Together website. We are all heartbroken by the loss that our friends and neighbors in the Texas Hill Country have suffered. We are praying for those who have lost loved ones or have lost their homes and are hoping for the restoration that only Christ can bring.
